Duration : Three (3) years GNM training course including six month internship. This three year course will include:
Theory Subjects of Nursing Education, Introduction to Research and statistics, Professional Trends & Adjustments, Nursing Administration & Ward Management
Clinical Areas like Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Midwifery and Gynaecological Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.
Prescribed application form for appearing in the final examination each year to be held by the West Bengal State Nursing Council shall be submitted prior to the date of commencement of examination along with the prescribed examination fee through the head of the Institute as may be required by WBNC.
The candidates after successful completion of the course shall be registered with Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi as per the procedure.
Trained Nurses help people in every walk of life. Mostly we see Nurses working in Hospital setting giving care to ill patients. However, from world wide experience, it is seen that in nursing, career can take many forms apart from working in a hospital that includes work in doctor's chambers, clinics, schools, prisons, corporate houses, insurance companies, home nursing and counselling amongst others. Nurses help individuals from before birth to the time of death, and even help family members cope with the loss of a loved one after death.
Nurses are there for almost every imaginable situation involving the health&r illness of a person. After completion of a Diploma level programme, a competent student may pursue graduate, post graduate and doctorate level courses in a variety of clinical and social disciplines.
